My Fair Puppy is a home-based breeder of Cavapoo puppies in Bakersfield, California. We focus on raising loving, healthy, and well-socialized Cavapoo puppies in 1-2 litters per year. For us, it's not about quantity or selling puppies quickly – but rather on quality puppies that will be successful in their forever homes.

To help ensure your puppy's transition is as easy as possible, we provide plenty of resources for new PAWrents and are always available to chat about any issues or questions that may arrise. We love to stay connected with each family, and still are in contact with our very first buyer we met in 2007 when we were breeding our Maltese line! Our puppies are like family, and we'll be here for every stage of their life. 

Because health and temperament are paramount to us, we don't allow our puppies to leave to their forever homes until 12-14 weeks. Most breeders will happily sell puppies at 8 weeks or even earlier. This is not recommended! In our puppies, we see them continue to nurse even up to 12 weeks of age. Beyond the benefits of mother's milk, puppies learn a great deal from their parents in weeks 6-12. This is a critial phase of puppy development where they learn socialization, manners, self-grooming, routines, and how to interact with other dogs. Leaving home before these lessons can be taught can lead to a less perfect temperament, separation anxiety or attachment disorders, or even distructive behavior when left unattended. 

Other benefits of an extended time with their parents is with potty training! Because we crate train our puppies once they are mobile, potty training tends to come more naturally. By 10 weeks, our puppies are (mostly) making it through the night and waiting to potty in the morning. We also use training pads and artificial grass pads throughout their time with us to make training much easier. By the time our puppies go to their forever home, they understand the purpose of training pads, and if old enough, to potty outside. There will always be a learning curve with potty training, but our families find they adapt very quickly thanks to this method.
